Nope. A lot of people think that should be the order, but like the posts explain, Perceivers do Action differently than Judgers, so it’s a different order. And IPs being Specific do Action -> Principles while EPs being Universal do Principles -> Action… but all that is explained more thoroughly in the posts that this is the climax of.

You list INFJ twice and omit INTJ. That is, you give the proper cognition sequence but list as the second INFJ. Since this post has been up since October 2016, I’m surprised no one has noticed. I’ve read several of the articles and enjoyed them. They have strong potential for helping me keep characters in my fiction writing on track and “in character” as well as providing interesting insights into how different people think.

Other MBTI sites and books, even the best ones, always get wrapped up in assigning behaviors to each type and passing subtle moral judgements on them. As an INFP, I’m especially sick of seeing people define Fe as more selfless and giving and Fi as more self-absorbed. I love these alternative definitions, which capture the real essence of each function without getting sidetracked by stereotypes!

It is exciting to think about how there are endless applications to how these cognition patterns show up for each one of us. It is clear that understanding how cognition works is not at all the same limiting thing that all the stereotypes try to make it, but instead an invention to be yourself even more so… applying your own cognition to whatever you want to accomplish.
